Simon Cowell has reportedly signed X Factor boyband One Direction to his record label SyCo.

The music mogul, who mentored the five teenagers on the talent show, is said to have offered a multi-million pound record deal to the young singers, despite the fact they did not win the X Factor.

One Direction came third in the competition and after the boys were eliminated, Cowell hinted of the record deal, saying: "All I can say is this is just the beginning for these boys."

Cowell has reportedly enlisted the help of songwriter and producer Steve Mac, who has worked with Leona Lewis, JLS and Susan Boyle, and who already has over 20 No 1 singles under his belt.

Meanwhile Cowell has hinted of plans to create a new weekly UK chart show on terrestrial television to fill the void created by Top of the Pops being axed in 2006.

Russell Crowe calls criticism the film "Noah" has received "irrational" and says he's happy audiences can finally see it for themselves. That has prompted Paramount Pictures to add a disclaimer to marketing materials, saying "artistic license has been taken." Crowe says now that people are starting to see the film, they realize how respectful it is and true to the material, and he thinks that's cool.

Simon Cowell has apparently gone from totally private to Mr. Public! The man is sharing it all with his many fans! Not only did he take baby momma Lauren Silverman to the opening night of 'I Can't Sing', but he also let some juicy, juicy gossip spill! The former American Idol judge revealed some potentially big news on Twitter that might just get fans interested in Idol again. He tweeted, "One day Paula Randy Me and Ryan will reunite. I know it will happen. It was a special time." Does this mean they will all return as judges one year? Or will they just do a one-time guest appearance as judges? So many questions, so few answers!

Harry Styles is the man you want to call when you need to get out of a bind! The One Direction singer was prank called by The 1975's Matt Healy on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio Show and he had no idea! Healy asked Styles if he could lend him $5,000 to help him handle a "threatening" situation with two men. And while the entire scenario seemed a bit off, Styles didn't appear to be skeptical over the phone. In fact, he was pretty open to helping out the Brit musician.

X Factor's Rita Ora hints she WON'T return - 'winning is a good way to leave the show'

Rita Ora drops her biggest clue yet as to if she'll return to the ITV talent show. Rita Ora has hinted that she won't be returning to X Factor, following reports that Nick Grimshaw faces the axe from the judging panel. Appearing on the spin-off series to the ITV talent show, Xtra Factor, Rita gave insight into 2016, moments after watching her act Louisa Johnson win in the dramatic Sunday night final which saw Adele, Coldplay and One Direction perform. Speaking to presenters Melvin Odoom and Rochelle Humes, Rita revealed that she doesn't know what is next. "As a new judge it's a good way to leave the show," said Rita, when she spoke to Xtra Factor viewers. "I really can't put it into words," added Louisa. "It doesn't even feel real. It feels crazy. I just appreciated everyone keeping me in here. "I've got the most loyal supporters ever, I can't thank them enough." Later the Hot Right Now singer appeared alongside her fellow judges Nick Grimshaw, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell and continued to speak about the end of the series. Rita added: "You know I didn't know what to expect... I didn't think I'd get so attached. I feel like she is my sister." "Or daughter," joked Cowell. "She [Louisa] was unbelievable tonight. I thought she went into another gear. The highlight was when she sang A Man's World." "I'm so sad because it's over for us now," added Rita. "You can always watch it back," said Cowell. X Factor have been contacted for comment. Previously speaking about Nick facing the axe, an X Factor spokesperson show told Mirror Online, the show "have not even started discussing the next series and won't do so until next year."

One Direction Breaking Up After 2 More Albums?

More Celebrity News ►► http://bit.ly/SubClevverNews Best One Direction covers of all time►► http://bit.ly/1v8wPcj Directioners – I hope you’re seated for this one because I think the reality of what I’m about to tell you might be kind of devastating. One Direction is breaking up…like sometime in the future. I know, I know, that’s the most vague thing I’ve ever said, but let me explain. Simon Cowell just went on the record to say that the lads will “make at least two more albums,” adding that “they’re in the middle of one right now.” Then he capped that off by the inevitably heartbreaking reality that “Bands don’t stay together forever.” But Simon, some bands DO stay together forever – like Bon Jovi and Aerosmith and Backstreet Boys (okay so they sorta broke up for a while and then got back together). But regardless my dears, don’t worry too much because the guys aren’t going to completely disappear – About the topic of solo careers for the guys happening, Simon said that “Eventually I’m sure they all will.” So with that thought in mind, what sort of solo careers do you think the guys will have – do you think they’ll all stick to music or do you think one of them will get into acting or hey, maybe even hosting? Or do you think there’s one of them who might say goodbye to music when 1D is done with the next two albums? We want to hear from you so hit the comments section and remember, there’s no need to get sad just yet, we’ve got at least two more albums left! On that note, click here to check the best 1D covers of all time! And if you love One Direction as much you know we do, be sure to subscribe right away! The X Factor is a British television music competition to find new singing talent, contested by aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. Created by Simon Cowell, the show began in 2004 and has since aired annually from August/September until December. The show is produced by FremantleMedia's Thames (previously Talkback Thames) and Cowell's production company SycoTV. It is broadcast on the ITV network in the United Kingdom and simulcast on TV3 in the Republic of Ireland, with spin-off behind-the-scenes show The Xtra Factor screened on ITV2. The "X Factor" refers to the undefinable "something" that makes for star quality. The show was devised as a replacement for the highly successful Pop Idol, which was put on indefinite hiatus after its second series, largely because Cowell, who was a judge on Pop Idol, wished to launch a show to which he owned the television rights.[1] The perceived similarity between the two shows later became the subject of a legal dispute. The original judging panel consisted of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Cowell. Brian Friedman replaced Walsh in series 4, which also saw Dannii Minogue join the panel. However, Friedman later left and was replaced by Walsh. Cheryl Cole took the place of Osbourne in series 5. Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos joined the panel in series 8 as replacements for Cowell, Minogue and Cole, though Rowland left before series 9 and was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger. Osbourne returned to the panel in series 10, replacing Contostavlos. Cowell and Cole returned to replace Barlow and Osbourne in series 11, while Mel B replaced Scherzinger. The first three series of the show were presented by Kate Thornton. Since series 4, the show has been presented by Dermot O'Leary. Also, in series 10, The Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack served as a backstage presenter during the Saturday night live shows. The show is split into different stages, following the contestants from auditions through to the final. In the original televised audition stage of the show, contestants sang in an audition room in front of just the judges, but from series 6 onwards, auditionees sing on a stage in front of the judges and a live audience. In series 10 and 11, both auditions formats were used. Successful auditionees go through to "bootcamp" and then to "judges' houses", where judges narrow down the acts in their category down to three or four acts to mentor for the live shows, where the public vote for their favourite acts following weekly live performances by the contestants. There have been ten winners of the show to date: Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis, Leon Jackson, Alexandra Burke, Joe McElderry, Matt Cardle, Little Mix, James Arthur and Sam Bailey. Winners receive a recording contract with record label Syco Music with a stated value of £1 million. This includes a cash payment to the winner, but the majority is allocated to marketing and recording costs. From 2004 to 2010, and again in 2013, the winning contestant's single was released in time for the end-of-year chart battle for the UK's Christmas number one, a spot which was gained in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2013. In 2011 and 2012, the winner's single was released a week earlier. All of the winners' singles have gone on to achieve the number one chart position nevertheless—Brookstein and McElderry both instead claimed the New Year's number one spot a week later in 2004 and 2009, respectively, while Little Mix achieved the top spot a week earlier in 2011. In 2012, Arthur achieved the number one spot a week earlier as well, but also claimed the New Year's number one spot, making him the first (and currently only) X Factor winner to regain the top spot with his winner's single. As of June 2014, a total of 35 number-one singles have been achieved by artists who have appeared on the show, such as Lewis, Burke, JLS, Olly Murs, Cher Lloyd, One Direction and Little Mix. Simon Cowell On Reality TV and on Idol

Simon Cowell, the former 'American Idol' judge returns to TV following a 30-month hiatus. Cowell had a lot to say about his success and how television worked explaining how America's Got Talent outlived the popularity of Idol in saying the show "is more fun than Idol. After you've heard 10,000 singers, you think, 'Bring on a dancing dog.' Cowell owns a piece of America's Got Talent which he joined as a judge after Howard Stern left and as we know he is also part of the team responsible to X Factor which brought populars like One Direction. There are 68 versions of the Got Talent format across the world and 56 X Factor shows which means Cowell has helped produce over 120 shows.
